Ariane Programme: nurturing growth in female leadership

The Ariane programme was created in 2019 to foster leadership development through a digital coaching method (videoconferencing). The methodology of individual support was created to measure by combining theoretical training and coaching. Zoom on this leadership programme, which is primarily aimed at women!

Digital coaching for personalised support

A programme that includes several 55-minute coaching sessions, taking place once a fortnight on average over a recommended period of up to 6 months, to maintain a rhythm and momentum in delivering the interactions.

With the help of this personalised support from certified coaches, participants set goals tailored to their needs, enabling them to gain confidence, unlock their potential and make progress in their managerial duties.

A typical Ariane coaching programme is as follows:

  • An initial “tripartite” session attended by the participant, her line manager and the coach by videoconference, to align and agree on the development objectives targeted by the coaching,
  • Eight (if the branch does not have tripartite start and end coaching sessions) to ten video conference coaching sessions between the participant and her coach, including a debriefing of the DISC personality questionnaire, which measures the participant’s communication style and behaviour,
  • A final tripartite session in the presence of the participant, the line manager and the coach by videoconference to review the initial objectives, note progress, identify possible areas of improvement on which to continue working and assess the satisfaction of the parties.

A tried and tested programme!

An anonymised survey revealed participants’ satisfaction with the first 200 courses completed over the 2019 to 2021 period. 77% of progress objectives were achieved, and 88% of line managers recommend the chosen approach, which enables them to come together with a positive level of commitment.

Given this success, VINCI Construction’s entities have decided to extend the operation for a further two years. This particularly effective personal development tool is now open to all managers, regardless of gender.

I had become absorbed by the operational side of things, and was no longer able to take a step back from my daily life.
The Ariane programme really helped me to gain some perspective and to challenge myself on what was driving me.
I have learned new ways of obtaining satisfaction, enabling me to get back onto a path of positive and constructive resilience.
