HEB Construction, an inclusive company in New Zealand

HEB Construction is dedicated to inclusion by providing all employees, including those in entry-level roles, with opportunities for training and career advancement. To overcome literacy barriers and enhance workplace safety, the company launched the “Safer People” programme in partnership with Upskills. This initiative improves communication skills and paves the way for recognised professional qualifications.

By integrating a Limited Credit Programme (LCP) in Infrastructure Works, HEB enables participants to earn 24 credits from the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. Thanks to a collaborative approach and strong managerial involvement, participation in the programme has reached 80%, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.

The results speak for themselves:
– 93% of learners are considering further qualifications
– 79% feel more confident sharing their ideas
– 65% have completed the programme, opening doors to leadership roles

With this initiative, HEB Construction is creating a true pathway to skilled employment and leadership, demonstrating that inclusion is a key driver of success for all.
